We received a lovely parcel in the mail last month from the Oxfam Boutique in Durham!
Since last year’s Festival of Thrift, we’ve been chatting to staff at the shop, and have come up with a plan that helps us both.
REJIG have been hard at work, developing a mini version of the recycled rosettes featured at the FoT’s amazing Oxglam Fashion Show. Each one is made from unique combinations of recycled bits and bobs, and (get this), the Durham Boutique are keen to start stocking and selling them as part of their retro section! Exciting much??
But wait! Here’s where the parcel comes in.
As part of the deal, REJIG will be getting regular bundles of unwanted fabric and trimmings from the shop to reuse and upcycle into fantastic rosettes. So we were very excited to rip open this first parcel and find it chock full of delicious tartan offcuts!
Beautiful!
We’ll be getting to work and whipping this lot up into rosettes in the coming weeks. So if you’re in Durham any time soon, keep an eye out for our soon-to-be-launched recycled tokens of style – Re-Galia!
