Once again Oxfam ran an amazing Oxglam Fashion Show at this year’s Festival of Thrift and as part of the preparation for the event, many hours of designing, sewing and recycling happened in the lead up to September. The designers and creators, all Oxfam volunteers, worked behind the scenes to produce some fantastic creations from recycled clothing, which looked rather fabulous on the catwalk. There are some great photos of all the creations on show and lots of the other festival events available on the website:

Here at Rejig, as well as preparing for our Festival sewing workshop, we also got involved with embellishing some hats for the Oxfam volunteers to wear over the weekend while working on their very busy clothes and book stalls. Using the Festival theme of ‘Growing’ we created some quirky fruit and vegetable applique designs using scraps of recycled jumpers and dyed blanket and had lots of fun with colour. See what you think of the results…….
